we have brand new federal tactical oo buck at work that has tiny white pellets spilling out of the front of some of the rounds. is this ok? our firearms guy says it is and i dont know muh about shotguns. any feedback would be great!

I was told they were shot buffer. Had a few coming out of some Federal LE-132 00. Never turned out to be a problem at all.

This is a common cimplaint with federal and sometimes winchester. It isn't really an issue.

Not to hijack the thread or anything but there is some federal 00 buck low recoil (LE132) on ammunitiontogo.com

This can be an issue if it is allowed to build up inside the magazine tube.

Yep. I just read a police report where lead powder leaked out of a breaching round. Breach man got one off, gun jammed before the door was opened, he had to step aside and let the moby man (next behind him in the SWAT stack) finish opening the door. Looking over the gun later revealed lead powder had jammed the magazine tube.

If your rounds leak white buffer plastic, might get a little clear fingernail polish and seal 'em up.

A drop of wax works well for sealing the crimp as well.

Winchester does a most excellent job of sealing their defensive buckshot shells by using heat applied to the crimp.
