Wilson Combat

Springfield Armory (assuming you want the Magwell finish to match the frame-MC Operator)

A Springfield TRP would certainly meet the OP's specs.

Kimber TLE II/RL, http://www.kimberamerica.com/pistols/custom/custom_tle_rl_II/.

Don't get hung up on whether the pistol comes with mag pads from the factory; they can be added to any 1911 magazine that doesn't have one.

custom build gun ? Or Unlabeled Custom Ed Brown? Kimber? WC? SA? Without pics you cant place a Manuf. to the gun.

how easy is it to install those beveled extended magwells? i cant see anything on the springfield wesite. my fone dosent do flash and cant get to a computer. Reason im shopping is in 3 months ill get to my 1st duty station. If its N.C. ill be able to bring my MP9 and AR and hopefully run my first match or 8. If it the republic of Kaliforistan,i just wont bring myself to buy 10r mags for a 18 r gun.So ill be 1911 shopping. and if its Japan well. . .fudge me. ill be spending alot of time in the gym

Take a look at Nighthawk Custom also. They have a couple models that are what your looking for out of the box. GRP.

It's easy. You can either get a Wilson magwell that installs under the grips or get a new mainspring housing with an attached magwell. Either way, it's a five-minute job with basic hand tools.

ETA: And thank you for your service to the nation.

If it's a Springfield you can talk to the custom shop,

http://www.springfield-armory.com/custom.php

They have a worksheet for what you can get done, I don't know how long the turn around is, but I've heard that they do good work and if you call and tell them what you're looking for they should be able to hook you up.

Don't worry about how the grips look, worry about function. The MC operator is highly recommended and the grips can be replaced. The Desert Warrior has some reported reliability issues.

If you want to get the front strap done there's plenty of folks that can do it for you, and if you want the magazine well added you could get both done through the springfield custom shop. I have an MC Operator and I'm looking at getting new grips too, I'm going with the Gunner grips, I don't mind the Pachmyr grips but the rubber sticks to my undershirt when I wear one ( I usually don't) and I'd rather not deal with that. I was a Marine so I've continued the "clean it everytime you shoot it plan" and I've had 0 malfunctions in 2000 rounds.

I've got a Springfield Armory MC Operator as well. Great pistol - switched the grips out.

My best buddy bought a brand new Kimber TLE 2/RL (or whatever) and I just shot it last weekend. Either way, you're going to pay for what you get. The tolerances are very tight; I always do the 1911 batteried barrel check - Slide is forward and push on the barrel in the ejection port. Usually if there is no movement, the pistol will shoot tight. Both of these pistols have zero play and will hit exactly what you want to hit, as long as you don't suck. I felt my buddy's Kimber actually had a more of a crisp trigger, which felt nice. It could be that it was the first time he'd shot it and we were popping its cherry - I don't know. With grips swapped out, the Springfield MC Operator looks second to none, IMO.
