Shooting yesterday, I had a serious case separation. Knock the mag out of the pistol and bruised up both my hands. Nothing permanent to me or the gun but loud and ouchy, with potential to have been more serious.

The casing was a CCI. I was shooting Remington. The only way I can think that this could have happened was that at a match, after clearing my pistol and dropping a round, instead of picking back up my own round, I grabbed someone else's abandoned reload.

Lesson learned: If I drop a round, I need to take a good look at it before putting it back in a mag, or to just let it go.

I'm glad you're OK and not seriously injured Barbara. I'm a sticker for not wasting ammo myself, but one questionable pickup ain't worth a KaBoom. By all means, let those cleared rounds stay on the ground unless you can clearly ID your brand.

So how did you do overall in the competition?

Placed 13/36 that match. Pretty mediocre shooter but I have good time. :)
