So I've had a chance to get it out to the range. I shot both XM193 AE, and a bunch of Black Hills 75gr MHP.

This gun ran perfectly, I'm not surpirsed. Shooting off the bench with the fore end supported by sandbags I was grouping inside of an inch and a half at 50 yds, and inside 3 inches at 100yds using the Black Hills. I'm sure the rifle is capable of better. I was a little concerned going from an Eotech to an Aimpoint but the change over was painless. I could feel the difference between the H buffer in this and the C buffer in my RRA, I can see why the change is recommended.

I still have a couple of little things to work out but all in all this is better than I had hoped it would be.

Big thanks to the folks on this site and WEVO who provided a lot of great information to help me select the bits and pieces, and to the folks at Rainier, G an R, and Bravo Company for having stuff in stock. :D

Now for some pics

Looks great!

I've put over 100 flawless rounds through mine and I'm extremely pleased so far. I plan on putting another 500 rounds through it at the end of the month.

I too went from an Eotech to an Aimpoint and couldn't be happier.

Was this originally a DD M4? If so, who chopped the FSB or replaced it and what was it replaced with?

Yes. Rainier swapped the Omega X rail for the DD Lite rail and a low profile gas block.

I prefer the Lite rails anyway.

If Grant would have had the rail I would gladly have gone with him.

Shadco,

Thanks. Is that gas block pinned or screwed? Nice looking musket you have there.
