I'm starting to consider options for a second AR to add to my collection. I have been considering a light weight barrelled carbine. My question, Is the Colt 6520 built to the same standards as the 6920 in terms of build quality and reliability? I would think it would be but I have no first hand knowledge to confirm this view.

Please let me know you insights on this carbine.

It is a "blue label" law enforcement gun, so it will be up to the same Colt standards as a 6920.

I used/shot 6520s for many years and truly loved the lightweights...
Never had any reliability or quality issues either.
We did part ways though as I fell for the Aimpoints pretty badly (after saing I would have little use for them...).
Depending on your needs, the 6520 might just fit the bill.

You are good to go with the 6520, it is a great functioning weapon. I tell you this because I have 1:D very reliable and light. I had like 90rnds of ammunition strapped to the gun and it only weighed like 7lbs.

Did you add the A1 grip yourself? I built an Israeli "clone", and I just couldn't talk myself into swapping the A2 grip out for the A1.

Yep, I had it laying around and the A1's fit my hand much better than an A2.

I want to thank everyone for their input. I'm definitely going to put the Colt 6520 on my shortlist for a second AR.
