Magpul ACS Stock Review

I spent a good chunk of the day taking pictures, processing images, and writing up a review of the ACS stock. You guys will have to excuse me for not reposting everything here, but hopefully it will be of interest to those people who have been looking for Magpul ACS information.

If you have any questions or comments, fire away and I'll answer whatever I can. I'm making no claims on being an expert, but I have been using the ACS for the past 7 months or so. Very nice pics!!! I am very interested in 2 of these for 2 build I am currently doing. How do you like it compared to an LMT SOPMOD or the CTR? Is it possible to preorder? Any info on release date or price?

I commented in the review that the Magpul ACS has replaced the CTR on my duty carbine. I own a SOPMOD, and its a great stock, but that I am using the ACS on a weapon that I rely on daily speaks for itself.


No release dates are given by Magpul anymore, so I'm no help on that. Pricing is under $140 IIRC, but I don't have any of the Magpul catalogs left, so I can't give the exact price.

You probably read the Playboys instead of looking at the pictures.:D I did not even see the link to the review b/c I was oogling the picture. Thanks fo all the info. in the review. My lowers are supposed to arrive in Aug. I hope I can get the stocks by then. They look great. I am excited about another great Magpul product.

While I was speaking with Travis Haley on the telephone about a week ago, I jokingly asked him to sell me an ACS (he is now the CEO of Magpul Industries).

He said no.

But after that, he said they'd be coming out 'soon'.

So, no date, yet. :(

Hey Shark my next project I want to do a SR25 clone do you mind sharing the information you have found on quality parts etc? I still want 2 of the new magpul stocks when they come out.

No problems with the rubber end piece, I use them on all of my duty and training weapons. They allow for one handed work of the weapon in unusual positions (clearing and checking under beds etc.) so that the stock doesn't slide off your shoulder.

The Hawk is made by RMJtactical.com (www.rmjtactical.com), mine has been absconded with my some .mil friends. I know I'll get it back eventually. :p

Hey Shark my next project I want to do a SR25 clone do you mind sharing the information you have found on quality parts etc? I still want 2 of the new magpul stocks when they come out.

No prob, GA Shooter! Not sure what upper I'm going with, but the lower "might" be a CMMG. Found some here locally. :) Probably use the DPMS LPK, since availabilty is good.

I'm hoping to get a couple of these as well for some 16" guns.

I like the CTR for my SBR's, and I have a UBR on my SR15, but this looks great for the other builds. :)

Is there a more American/hot woman? Can you tell I just watched the movie?:D

That is the Chris Reeves "Green Beret" knife. If you google it, you will find a lot of info. To say that its wickedly sharp out of the box would be a comical understatement.

This thread has answered my question on what stock I want on my rifle. At least I don't have to constantly check for a release date since it will be a while 'till I can buy it anyway.

I've got a bunch of images I can't post, and there isn't much I can say on the ACS release. Magpul will probably do the same thing on the stock as they did on the enhanced stock pad, which means one day it will simply be shipping and no one will be any wiser.

I emailed Grant at G&R tactical and he put me on a waiting list for the stock. He said he started a file.
