The American Heroes Challenge, a 501 (c) 3 organization, is a two-day multi-stage firearms and tactics competition designed to test the technical, tactical, and physical capabilities of our nation's armed forces and first responders. Operators from the military, law enforcement, and security professionals will use innovative problem solving methods, teamwork, and their special skill sets to complete tasks in scenarios designed to push the limits of their abilities.

The first annual American Heroes Challenge hosted by American Shooters and Progressive F.O.R.C.E. Concepts, is comprised of six tactically oriented stages of competition taking place Labor Day weekend of 2009. Twenty teams consisting of four members will compete in events encompassing low-light operations, manual breeching, building searches, injured operator rescue, rapid deployment skills, and physical fitness.

The stage events will be broken down into the following sub-categories: two solo events, two pairs events, and two fire team events. Stage events will be conducted in Las Vegas, Nevada at American Shooters state-of-the art indoor range and Desert Sportsmans Rifle & Pistol Club. Each stage event is named in honor of a fallen individual who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. The Challenge will also include a vendor village and demonstration shoot area. The weekend will conclude with an awards ceremony and benefit concert.

American Heroes Challenge is committed to truly testing not only an operator's physical ability and tactical aptitude but also the ability to adapt as the mission evolves. To maintain this spirit, specifics of the exact events will not be disclosed until the on-site stage briefing. Some of the scenarios competitors may face include:
Pistol and carbine live fire skills course incorporating shooting responses, combative manipulations, shooting positions, reactive movement, extended range engagement, shooting-on-the-move and transition drills.
Live fire obstacle course emphasizing fitness while fatigued, functional strength, peak tactical performance under stress and skill-at-arms with various weapon systems.
PRISim system Scenarios resolved by engaging in high-intensity use of force encounters requiring tactical thinking, split-second judgment, subject command and control, accuracy and stress management.
Low-light tactical, problem solving scenarios resolved by employing flashlight techniques, movement skills, communications, barricade tactics, engagement of multiple targets and proper decisional shooting.
Tactical rescue, treatment and evacuation of a downed-subject in an austere outdoor environment. Using team tactics observation skills and physical endurance, competitors must successfully navigate hazardous terrain in the shortest amount of time under live fire conditions.
Rapid deployment mission undertaken in a large, multi-story structure to stop a crisis in-progress. Competitors must assess, enter and dominate the structure utilizing force-on-force training systems and tactical response procedures.
Each team will be competing for prizes awarded to the top three teams, top three solo event finishers, as well as an award for the Iron Man and Top Gun categories.

The first annual American Heroes Challenge will be open only to twenty teams with a military, law enforcement, or professional security background. Each team will be limited to four members and one alternate. The alternate team member may only compete in the place of a primary team in the event should a primary team member be injured and can no longer compete.

Entry fee is $1500 per team and is tax deductible. All documentation will be forwarded to your department or agency contact. All proceeds from the American Heroes Challenge will be donated to help members of the armed forces, law enforcement, and first responders. Each year, AHC will choose a cause to donate to. This year, proceeds from the AHC will be used to construct the Las Vegas Veterans Memorial Park in the center of Las Vegas, NV. Southern Nevada is home to more than 250,000 veterans and there is no official monument to honor their service.
