I've been looking for a Colt 6920 for quite a few months, and found a few, but only for ridiculous prices.

Today I stopped by my dealer and asked if he had any Colts coming in - he pointed to a box on the counter and said "open it up".

It was a 6721, not really what I was looking for, but when I asked the price and he said $1,179....I couldn't get my wallet out fast enough.

Hope I got a good deal and didn't get excited over nuttin!!!

Yep sounds like a good price. When I used to sell 6721s they were about 100 or so less than the 6920s.

Sounds like you got a good deal. My only gripe about the 6721 is the barrel. Just not a fan of HBAR's or 1:9" twist rates. But sub-$1200 prices on Colts are good to see.

If he really wanted to he could probably find an unfired barrel on TOS for the same amount as he could sell that one for. Easy and fast swap and he is ready to go.

You got a good deal.

I bought a 6721 in March for $1800.

I got a 6920 a few weeks ago for $1500.

I've always thought the grenade launcher cuts were a ridiculous, pointless poseur feature.

(putting on nomex underwear)

6720 is a bit heavier, which should help with practical accuracy. Also it has a 1:9 twist. Better for 55 to 62 gr bullets, in theory. Worse for 75gr.

If only colt made a 1:7 medium weight gun w/o the stupid cuts.

Dude,
I found a 6721 way before i ever found my 6920 and I am glad I stayed with it. As soon as I wanted to shoot out to distances the heavy barrel was a major plus! I ended up finding a 6920 some time later as well as a Colt 14.5 but that's a different story. But I find myself returning to my 6721 as i find new optics to have even more fun with it, later!

You got a good deal forgiven. The heavy barrel is what appeals to me about the 6721. Colt should offer a heavy barrel in a 6920 as an additional option.

you got yourself one fantastic deal, of all the Colt AR-15s, the 6721 is my favorite, i prefer the heavier barrel and the 1-9 twist, as i believe it is optimal for all bullet weights.

my friend, those features are the reason a 6721 is a 6721 :D

guys, does your 6721 have a "G" marking under the handguards near the chamber?

my 6731 does and I'd like to know its meaning..
