Did anyone that attended see a Prismatic at the Leupold booth? I'm been trying to dig up info and I saw this from Leupold but it raises some questions.

I assumed it was battery powered to illuminate the reticule (but if the battery went TU, you still had the reticule in daylight). But looking at the picture, I don't see any ON/OFF switch or intensity control. Then the flyer refers to an illumination module. Is that some plug-in deal or is it integrated with the sight?

Also, it looks like Leupold has paired it with a proprietary mount with multiple risers to adjust height, while at the same time allowing it to be backward compatible with some ARMS rings/mounts. Is that how everyone interprets the flyer?

I've emailed Leupold asking for the specs, if they repsond I'll post an update here.

Roger that. I saw that thread earlier, I was just hoping that some of the folks that made it to the SHOT Show might have seen it in the flesh and picked up a bit more info on it.

The illumination module is what I'm really curious about, how it works, battery life, is it integral with the sight or is it an additional cost add-on, etc.

I wish they released a photo of the illumination module next to the sight. The reticle is a circle dot, it illuminates the outer circle and the dot. Like the one found on the SN4 but the outer ring is not as thick.

The one I handled at SHOT was not illuminated. The circle dot was pretty much useless to pick up any "targets" other than targets wearing light colors.

I suspect the illumination intensity will be exactly what's on the CQ/T, since it's now a common reticle across several optics in Leupold's lineup.

I have read that the reticule subtension will be different than the CQT's (216 MOA at 1x), but the concept is the same -- a circle and a small dot centered in the circle. Hopefully the subtension is a more useful number for an unmagnified optic.

I'm looking at a picture from SWFA's site and it looks like there's something going on on the tube at the 1:00 position just in front of the occular lens locking ring. I'm wondering if this is an interface point for the illuminated module. If you look at other Leupold optics that feature illumination, you can see where the battery source/intensity adjustment dial is located, it might somehow snap on at this spot, but this is just conjecture on my part.

Wonder if the Larue aimpoint mount would fit it either in front of or to the rear of the turrets?

From what I read on TOS the illumination module will fit around the tube, so I'm not sure if using other rings and illumination together are compatible.

The Leupold flyer stated an ARMS #22-34mm ring would work with the sight, but again, I can't see how it could work with the illumination source. Is the LaRue ring/mount similar to the ARMS #22-34mm?

I talked to Leupold Tech Support today and they are sending me a hardcopy catalog that lists all the specs for the Prismatic. When I get it I will post results. Unfortunately he couldn't send anything electronically, so snail-mail it is.
