Which AR carbine manuals does everyone prefer and where is the best place to buy them?
Thanks,
Dave

Other than the USGI manuals which you can download for free over at arfcom, I suggest getting "Some of the Answer: Urban Carbine" by Jim Crews. So far as I know, it is only available direct from him at http://www.marksmans.com/

Beyond that, there are a couple of decent books on building competition rifles that are good if that's what you need.

M16A2, M4, M4A1 Operator' Manual - TM 9-1005-319-10 (http://www.biggerhammer.net/manuals/), biggerhammer.net, login and password are at the top of the page.

What do you'all think of this book: Black Rifle II (http://www.amazon.com/Black-Rifle-II-Into-Century/dp/0889353484/sr=8-1/qid=1169306554/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-1024016-5011111?ie=UTF8&s=books): The M16 Into the 21st Century. Amazon listing has a review by Tweak. I purchased mine from a abebooks (http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?sts=t&y=0&tn=black+rifle+ii&x=0) vendor.

What are you wanting the manual for? Are you looking for a manual for shooting & operating, and if so would it be based on combative or competition shooting? Something on maintenance? Something on armoring? There are many good books and manuals available, if you can give me an idea I might be able to point you to something that I have read that is in my personal library.
