Forgive me if it's been discussed before, I tried searching and didn't find anything on the topic. I'm trying to figure out if there is any technical reason not to mount an AR-15 on a wall and what method would be most recommended. Many thanks in advance!!!

Why not? I have my AR hanging on the wall, I just used some 3.5" deck screws and wrapped duct tape around the exposed threads. Can't think of any reason not to. I take it off the wall on an almost daily basis, whether for shootin' fun or upgrades, maintenance etc;

I found some big rubber-coated hooks for yard tools at Home Depot. I screwed them above the interior of my closet door, and they work great. Very sturdy and the robber makes them easy on the gun.

Nothing technically wrong with it per se, other than maybe becoming prone to collecting dust, etc. Not everyone can shoot their rifles everyday, so if that's you...

My other concerns would be: How easy would it be for someone to accidentally knock it off? Could it be seen through a window from outside? Just thinking out loud. YMMV.

Thanks for all the replies everyone :) I shoot at least every week or two and I plan on covering whatever I wall-mount with a cloth so dust shouldn't be too much of a problem. People knocking it off and the window view are a non-issue for me as well. Thanks again people!!!

I am partial to th e Blac-Rac from Pintaro Mfg. for a solid wall mount. We have them in several vehicles and on walls, and like the added security of the locks on the rack for security.

Good luck.

I have this set up which secures my AR.

Don't know if this is what you are looking for, but it has the potential for different mounting styles.
