Hey just curious if theres any 458 SOCOM owners over here yet?
Glad to see there is a nice alternative to the other one out there.

I really like the looks and design of this one too!

Glad Grant and Co. got this going, I love the Gisselle trigger I got from him.

Had one. Sold it. Couldn't afford to feed it as I don't reload. Only CorBon had ammo...and it t'weren't cheap!

Here is mine compared to my other lightweight AR. Looks basically the same execpt for the BIG hole in the barrel...and the slightly shinier finish.

Hey I stumbled onto it while reading and laughing at some issues over on ARF, whats funny is, this site does not have all of the garbage posts,tags,+1's etc, almost every post I read is AT LEAST semi worthwhile to the posters question.

I was thinking about purchasing one, but not sure if it's in my best benifit to do so. Anyway I'd hope to see some pics of any if anyone has one.

I purchased a .458SOCOM upper from Teppo Jutsu a few years back and set up a rifle with an Ace skeleton stock on the lower and an Aimpoint for an optic. I don't recollect if even CorBon was selling ammo at that time. I was strictly reloading for the rifle, using 400gr and 500gr round nose bullets. I can't remember what I loaded behind them, but the recoil was pretty hefty, about like a 3" 12 guage, maybe a little harder.

I sold the rifle last year to fund something else, to someone who was going to take it to Africa to use as a bush rifle. If I were independently wealthy my gun safe would be less like a Motel 6 and more like a retirement community, and I'd still have it. ;)

Here's a few pics. It sure had a formidable looking bore.

I've considered selling my .325 WSM rifle to help fund a .458 upper, just so I can deer hunt with my AR :D

How do they work with a collpasible stock ?

You generally only see them with fixed stocks because people don't like the "auto"-collapsing feature. :)
