Thanks to several discussion threads in this forum, I made the decision to go with a dedicated .22LR upper and the TacSol M4 version checked the squares well. I was looking for a 1" or better 50 yd upper that would afford me some more trigger time on the AR platform, handle any .22LR chore outside of benchrest shooting, and serve as an intro to rifles and ARs for my kids or friends new to shooting.

I received a pleasant surprise call yesterday evening from Dennis at Mizzou Mule Guns that he is receiving his anticipated shipment of TacSol M4 and LT AR22 uppers over the weekend. His delivered price was the best I found (as indicated on his website here: http://www.mizzoumuleguns.com/id69.html). I should have mine in hand by the end of next week.

He had 10 coming in with another 15 in about 3 weeks. He has a few that haven't been spoken for yet. Friendly public service heads up for anyone looking for a good deal.

Now if only an ACS stock would show up to finish off a lower so I can have a dedicated .22LR complete rifle, another case, more BDM mags, a .22 suppressor, and some more .22LR bricks, I'll have scratched the .22LR itch and can move onto the SBR upper, that PT M&P9, 5.56 suppressor, ...

This is a sick disease I have.

Cheers and Happy 4th of July,
Pk

Had an hour today to get over to the NRA range and try out the TacSol M4 upper for functioning and accuracy since a few weeks ago when I learned why it was a bad idea to try this upper with an notched-hammer equipped lower...https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=34411

While it was only 100 rounds on this trip, no failures whatsoever and I was holding 1" or slightly better for 10 round groups at 50 yds using a cheap 4-16x AO scope with both 40gr Fed AutoMatch and 36gr Fed Wal-Mart 550rd bulk pack. The 4lb Bill Springfield trigger job on the Stag LPK FCG was very smooth and clean - it was fun watching the holes appear on the paper. Can't wait to get back to practice with this upper set up up with my T-1 and irons. Heck of a lot more fun than a 10/22...

I'll update Rob's thread when I've got a few bulk packs through from a reliability perspective.

Cheers,
