Colt 6940

I thought the 6940 had a different barrel configuration than the 6920. The photos I saw on gun broker look like a 6920 with railed forearm and flip up sights.

Can some one clear this up for me?

You need a special tool to remove the barrel nut due to the configuration of the upper, but the barrel is the same.

That's incorrect. The barrel extention is not the same. It's a taper fit to the barrel nut. It is not interchangable with a standard M4 barrel.
