You should find a stand alone stock for it and remove it from your rifle immediately.

I actually want a flare launcher to use as a toy...but certainly not on my gun.

Thanks for the help guys, and yes it's a olympic and I have had no problems with it. I also have colts as well, its only this one I have a flare launcher on for kicks and thats about it but would like it to look better. I'll check the places that have been listed, and guys really olympic's not that bad really.

I would caution you to read ALL of the information saved at the top of both the General Discussion and Technical Discussion boards before you get to hyped up about defending your OLY.

While it may work for your intended applications, that's great. For what 99% of the shooters on this board they do not perform, and this is very well documented.

Good luck on finding a new mount for your rifle. I have no experience with a rifle mounted launcher as all of ours for less-lethal are stand alone. The suggestion of removing it from your rifle and mounting a stock would be the route that I would go.

Well I read up on olympic from this site, I can see most have less opinion of it, but I'll still keep it. Love my Colts: elite and 6920 LE great rifles.

Seeing as it has no practical purpose, I would just keep what you have, as long as it works.

For what it's worth, I shot a bunch of boating flares out of my 870 a few years ago on the 4th of July, and it was pretty entertaining.

Okay, I'm a little new to this... but why would one need a 37mm flare launcher on their carbine?

In looking for this info I found a poster with a Spike's Havoc that registered it as a DD so he can fire actual explosives...??? Is that possible?

nichud09
07-05-09, 23:24
i dont think hes firing actual explosives out of the havoc, but other rounds considered as DD. anything thats not a flare/smoke/cs... more like flachette rounds. i have a 37mm launcher too, and i have absolutely no use for it,except for last nights fourth of july, gotta love star clusters!!haha... but usually it just sitting in my safe.
as far as the sole purpose of a 37mm launcher or 40mm for that matter...its not needed here, its honestly just personal satisfaction/and cool looks factor. no one in the US should seriously need a launcher for any matter unless its just for fun/looks, or you like blowing shit up-which is classified as fun.. or,....or if you just enjoy a good chubby when looking at your weapon...nothing wrong with that.

also, call me crazy but i couldve swore that ive heard that a 40mm mount, will work with the 37mm launcher, thus getting it nice and snug against your rifle... i think i read that at ar15.com sometime ago... but im not 100% sure. check it out.

Pretty much it just a cool factor and shooting flares and clusters on the 4th. I have no rounds for it as of yet. Will look for the 40mm mount and see if it will work.
