Cut down Enfield. Appears to be a shotgun heat shield with a rail attached. MBUS on top and some, "Tactical" scope/light/laser. I don't even think you could get chin-weld with this thing. Maker declares that it, "holds zero very well" :p

A close second I came across before on Gunbroker:

I don't have a picture of it, but I have seen a Browning Auto 5 shotgun some guy traded in at a gun store with a heat shield attached to the barrel. For those unfamiliar with the A5, the problem is that the recoil is supposed to move the barrel and bolt rearward to cycle the action. The heat shield essentially locked the barrel in position and neutralized the semiautomatic capability.

I will never understand WTF a fake suppressor is for ...

fake suppressors facilitate weapon's primary, and perhaps only, use: being shown to anyone and everyone the owner has in his apartment.

seeing as it doesn't actually need to suppress sound, why in the world would he spend 800-1000 bucks on a suppressor with a sound-suppression function? pshaw. he can barely pay his $415 rent every month as it is.

A year or two ago, some company was offering a fake suppressor for the PS90 with fake "Property of the U.S. Secret Service" markings. Basically it was a barrel shroud to hide the PS90's civilian length barrel. I've also seen semiautomatic Krinkov copies with fake suppressors attached to conceal the civilian length barrel.

As has been said, they are definitely for show. However, some people live in states that prohibit NFA items and the fake cans are as close as they're going to get to something that looks like the real thing. Some people go in for that. I know I have seen a lot of AR-15 lower receivers with full auto markings that are not capable of full auto or burst fire.

The fake stuff seems like a bad idea to me. Having to explain why one's "suppressor" isn't suppressing anything to some stranger on the range seems like it would be more of a deterrent to the purchase of a fake can than it apparently is. Also if there was some issue that got the police looking at the firearm, I think fake government property markings on fake NFA items would confuse the average police officer in a bad way for the gun's owner.

It's not uncommon to have a fake can attached while one waits on SBR paperwork to come through as well. I recall a company that sells AKSU style rifles with a fake can attached and would remove them for free once the paperwork comes in (Red Jacket? I don't remember).

These didn't conceal a civilian length barrel ala' GSG-5 though. It was an actual shorty barrel with a can "permanently" attached, either silver solder or blind pin.

As far as having short barrels /w permanently attached barrel extensions or fake cans, I never quite understood them. You get all the negatives of an SBR (ballistics) with none of the positives (length).

Perhaps the barrel was short, they didnt want to pay a tax stamp for it, so they went with something that was legal and still looked different? Not everybody wants a 5.5" XM177 flash hider on their rifle;)

I wish I could find the pictures, but while searching on gunbroker one day looking for a deal on a Colt 1911 I saw someone selling a Colt 1911 they had bubba'd the hell out of.

As an example of the gun's many issues, it looked like they attempted to cut forward slide serrations with an angle grinder or a file...it was the most god-awful thing you've ever seen.

didn't feel girly the least bit. hell, i even got into a fist fight with some asshole right there in the street in downtown Portland.

it did get a little weird at one point while we were standing around in front of the Benson while we tried to get the bride and groom's hotel reservation cleared up, and found out there was some kind of gay pride beer festival going on like 2 blocks away. explained why we had so many guys talking to us.

The most FUBARD guns I have actually ever seen come from SWAT cops in my area. The follow the "If its FREE its for me" theme so everytime someone gives them something, they stick it on their gun.

God help them if they ever have to ACTUALLY to shoot someone.

You don't know much about Portland OR do you.

It's north of San Fransisco.

My first thoughts were, "I wouldn't want to stand around down town Portland in a Kilt for more than one millisecond".

bkb0000

portland isn't nearly as bad as sanfran, but it's definately liberal. and gay. they're in the process of recalling their first openly gay mayor for screwing a 17 year old boy and lying about it. he's fighting the recall, naturally, instead of resigning like they used to do back in the day when a politician faced public disgrace.

i live about 45 miles away, but being the only "city" for 200 miles, naturally i have to spend a deal of time there.

In the late 70s I used to live in Albany and drove to Woodburn then up past Dickie Prairie and up toward Ice Box Canyon as a cutter in the woods. Not much traffic then at 5:00 am either. When the wind got to blowing to much we would go to Boring and drink and play pool. Had some good times there.
Portland wasn't that way openly back then.

I will preface the description by saying this. What you are about to see is a 21st century rifle built utilizing a 19th century platform. You will either understand what I've designed and built or you won't.

[SNIP]

There is a (THREE DAY), (NO FIRING), (NO CHAMBERING OF ROUNDS), and (NO DISASSEMBLY) inspection period. As I've said before, people can and will find a reason to return something, from buyers remorse to being threatened with a frying pan. For this reason, return shipping costs will fall on the buyer. The rifle is well marked and I will know if the inspection period has been violated. Violation = Ownership.

i really love the three day inspection period where you're not allowed to fire a round, chamber a round or even disassemble the weapon

this guy is seriously off his nut

how are you supposed to inspect a gun without disassembling it?

I especially like the rough cut hole in the top of his handguards to accommodate that rail.

What/Where did he get that rail in the second photo! Never seen one of those before. How did it mount to that cut off upper? I never thought to mount my scopes with both rings behind. Should get some good "Fish Flop" with that setup.

I defy any of you to say that if this dude swung through a window or kicked a door in, that you wouldn't immediately turn away/avert your eyes with no thought of returning fire. A sounder tactic I've never heard...this guy is a walking flashbang with unlimited uses.

I hope 'it' describes the dude as a whole, because God help me I might have seen 'it' too, if 'it' is indeed what I think 'it' is.

Well, I've read the whole thread...a few times, since it's an old thread...and there is one(1) other picture of him. And it is a different picture. And someone mentioned this picture, of him on his bed. So here it is. Because it is endlessly amusing. Now that you're armed with all that information, you can clearly see that it is you who needs to read the whole thread, since you're obviously wrong.

So unless 'this dude' is you, I can't see the reason for your heavy flow. Did you miss going to the beach or horseback riding today?

This is something that doesn't need to get into the hands of gun-grabbing, liberal America. I can just see Joe Biden holding this up on MSNBC and screaming "This is why we need to get guns off the streets."

I thought the Guitar Hero controller in the background was a nice touch.

Any coroner's pictures of violent firearm crime are infinitely worse...and there seems to be a limitless supply of those in certain areas. I'd laugh if I saw Joe Biden with this guys picture...there is no clause in the 2nd that says fat wierdos can't do glam shots with their weapons.

The Noisy Cricket, as for the chainsaw, The Lancer (gears & gears of war 2) have a few steps ahead of that beast, needa incorporate it into the gun more like the game did man, and need a full hand guard for when activating the chainsaw and when you get in a chainsaw duel your hand will be protected :-)
