California doesn't have any laws against threaded barrels like Connecticut does it? I have a 20" upper that I may ship over there and just want to make sure I'm safe.

Thanks

Perfectly safe and legal. Any upper can come into CA no problem, even short barrels it's up to the end user to make sure it's at least 16" before putting it on a lower. Threaded barrels are only ilegal on pistols over here.

and threaded barrels aren't necessarily illegal in CT (and NY and MA) ... so long as the lower receiver that it will be mated with was manufactured prior to September 1994 (and in CT's case, not marked "Colt AR-15" or "Colt Sporter"). also, just shipping an upper to these states is not illegal. most folks take the uppers to a gunsmith to have a compliant muzzle brake permanently pinned and welded on the threads.
