This was a very cool evening! I don’t normally have this nice of a range to use and will enjoy going back. I started helping a local CSI Supervisor learn to make knives and the gesture has turned into a good give and take. He has a marked range at his home that’s about 30 min from me and on his families land.

Anyways –
Here is what I had with me.

My NEWLY acquired G19 2nd generation

AA Conversion Unit for it as well.

My main goal for tonight was getting my GEN 2 G19 test run for carry needs as well as give the AA .22 conversion kit a run for its money. The “OTHER MAIN GOAL” was to get my TA31-F ACOG hitting decent at 100 yards and to see what the CMMG .22 conversion kit was like for the AR platform as well.

Well – the day didn’t start or end like I expected but thats okay!

We charged ahead despite the weather we were working with for the day.

Once there I felt like I was in for a treat!

A GOOD CLEAN SIMPLE RANGE TO THROW DOWN LEAD!!!

The first target is 50 yards and the to one is 100 yards. Sighting in a scope take time and patience and were were running against daylight so the end result is a GREAT starting point for the next trip.

Here is my last grouping of 4 at 100 yards before we called it a day. Not GREAT but with a “Warm” barrel and I am sure a not so clean barrel I can live with this group.

The ACOG TA31-F is a great scope!!!! My eyes are not good but I could manage to get acceptable head shot groups at 100 yards all day long! I want to get my red dot sighted in for a 100 yard zero down the road as well. It’s a 50 yard zero now.

The CMMG conversion was cool!!! Went right along fine using Winchester Super X (Forget the actual name of the ammo) which I read the conversions didn’t like. I did have 1 FTF with the Winchester brand but CCI mini mags were flawless.
Also the Conversion kit for the G19 was VERY SWEET!!!!!!! It had some FTF as well but I think it was related to me having the rounds in the mag. weird. I had a few nose dives but No problem! That’s what training is for. TAP and RACK BANG baby!!!

This conversion kit will be EXCELLENT for the wife and daughter to get a better feel for shooting than NOT wanting to try a slightly more felt recoil 9mm.

All in all I am very pleased with the way the gear runs and look forward to more lead going downrange. I wanted to use the .22 conversions for a more “less dramatic” shooting experience for my grandmothers neighbors where I shoot. Plinking is a lot more fun and cheaper when your limited to certain distances and backdrops to shoot into. The .22 will get used more than I thought! It was great fun and I could tell my hand gun shooting was easier to work on proper trigger control and learn my G19’s like I want to learn them! AINT NOTHIN’ LIKE THE REAL DEAL THOUGH ;)
