I have been looking for a weapons bag that doesn't scream guns onboard. I believe that I have found a solution for those of us who wish to carry are black rifles discreetly. I found this bag while doing some research. http://www.silverfishlongboarding.com/Arti...Army_Skate_Bag/ This bag is 43" long and you should be able to get three M-4 style rifles in it along with rifle gear. I know it is a skateboard bag but most of us can pass for skaters anyway (after all Tony Hawk is 40+ years old). I would like to get one but I have to get approval from household six for the expenditure. Tell me what you all think of this bag.

Check the Tactical Gear subforum and do a search for "discreet."

An LWRCI and Blue Force Gear collaboration. They are purpose built to carry rifles. Those are early production prototypes I believe. The final product should not be too different. Hopefully released this month or next.

Neat concept, cool companies involved...looking forward to the final product. Very low profile and definitely doesn't scream gun case.

its not /that/ discreet and its certainly not as well made or designed as BlueForce Gear products, but i recently got a Condor micro drag bag. it attracts less attention than a 40 inch rifle case, but that's about all.

it's a pretty decent take-down case. there are two padded dividers, giving you three interior sections in which to stow stuff.

i can fit an upper with optics, lower, sling and a few mags in there without issue

no, its not the best option out there, but it is affordable and gets the job done as advertised.

That thing looks awesome... a little on the high side though. Great idea.

As an ex-professional guitarist let me tell you - to a thief, those are very HIGH PROFILE cases . Don't you dare use that if you intend to leave it visible but unattended (i.e. locked in your vehicle). I've used guitar cases to move long guns, but only as long as the case was under my direct control.

Thieves are a lot less interested in tennis racquet, skateboard & hockey bags.

Ckeck out www.sneakybags.com. I recently met the guy that makes these and it is one very neat product. Here is a link. I think his bags have been discussed here before. http://www.sneakybags.com/Medium_Covert_Rifle_Bag.php

custom rifle case/backpack i designed - made for me by emdom. looks a bit strange vs a regular pack, but doesn't scream 'rifle' due to its shorter height. very convenient range pack as i can carry two rifles, mags and shooting gear in it. external pockets are large and have internal organization.

And you nice folks are going to put it on the market when? ;)

Nice bag, that is definitely a good concept. It looks like one of those travel backpacks that are supposed to be convertable luggage.

wow. that's very nice.

the MM designed packs would blend in much better around my area than a similar sized Eberlestock pack

We designed the bag more to move the weapon in and out of a residence, hotel, etc. so as not to draw attention to the user or the bag. I agree that guitars are a highly pilferable item and wouldn't recommend leaving a guitar bag in plain sight (or keyboard, or toolbox, etc.).

Another option is the Blue Force Gear DAP Discreet Case. It is made in 9 different colors and not covered in external pouches, MOLLE webbing, or anything else that screams "Gun inside."

As usual MM very practical and looks great. Will this be a production item?

In other words I want one......:D

as of now, it was just an experiment. i felt that it didn't look quite 'normal' enough, so i'm trying out a different design. not a backpack, but something that looks more common.
the backpack is expensive to make and to ship, and i'd probably tweak it a bit more, so as for now, it's on hold.

my feeling on a truly discrete case is that it really needs to look like something that no one will really take notice of. guitar-shaped cases, tennis racquet bags, aren't that low profile, especially if you don't match the 'profile' of what you're carrying. snow or skateboard bags are too long for my liking, which is why i'm concentrating on break down cases. if it's long enough to fit a full sized rifle, chances are that other people may think so as well.
function-specific bags can attract conversation from those people - 'you play the guitar/tennis/skate'? a discrete case of bag should be something that is generic enough not to prompt any conversation or interest, and that's what i'm working on right now.
the C3 case that i designed for SERT/i-shot is primarily a COMPACT case; not necessarily discrete, as it doesn't look like any common piece of luggage. it could prompt someone to wonder 'what's in that kind of case?' if they're familiar with the way rifle cases are constructed.
anyways, my .02 on a discrete case is that it needs to look generic enough to avoid scrutiny from anyone - rather than making it look like something specific which it is not, make it generic so no one wonders what's inside nor prompts anyone to chat with you.

It's not padded and the quality isnt great but i've been using a folding camping chair bag for carrying to the car and it even has a shoulder strap. I think one could glue some 1/4" padding on the inside for some additional protection.

16" midlength with vltor emod stock.

And sometimes, the simple solutions like that folding chair sack make for the most effective camo...

I use guitar, sports, and other bags depending on the environment. The guitar case works great in church, and the bat bag at the park, but not vice versa. It's a bit of a pain to swap them back and forth. The downside, as noted by others, as that they'll be higher theft items too. Best not to leave them alone. Certainly, some might generate conversation. A little knowledge about the activity the bag is designed for helps, as well as being a good conversationalist that can deflect and redirect nosey or chatty people.

The best hope for a go-everywhere multi-purpose bags are the backpacks. People have backpacks everywhere.

The Sneaky bag, and other discreet cases like the DAP, do a go job. They don't scream "gun". They are great for going in and out of some places discreetly, but not for remaining at hand in non-permissive environments. Sometimes, too much obscurity prompts as many questions as higher interest activities.

I prefer not to break down guns for transport, to keep them in an immediately deployable state. SBRs can't go everywhere, so there needs to be an option for the ~32"+ carbines.

I like bags in definitively non-mil colors. Kudos to BFG for doing that, as well the custom runs of others.

Re: the Sneaky discreet bag- Well built, GTG. There are folks doing interesting customizations with these for seasonal adjustment.

I second the castle rock tactical bag. I wish the interior was bright yellow or orange, but it works well.

Ha! I thought I was the only one that used camp chair bags for my guns. It's definitely descrete but the bags could use some padding to hide the shape of the gun better.

Someone needs to make padded "Camp Chair" gun bags and sell them for about $15-$20...;)

I was thinking about having one made up with the same material they use for the chair. :D

The top part (non shiny part in the picture) is actually pretty thick material.

I just used some campers ground mat which is about a 1/2 inch thick and I cut it to size and so far it looks natural as if a chair was inside the bag and the padding protects the carbine.

The camp chair bag is refreshing and creative. I get the downs when I see all the "discreet bags" on the market that all say "look at me I have a gun". Good freaking job and two thumbs up on the camp chair bag.:)

If you have the "Big Boy" sized chairs it would give you even more room. I think I'm going to the local army navy store to see if I can locate an old beat up millitary iso mat to sacrafice to pad a chair bag. Great Idea, thanks again.

I'm seeing a 1000d "chair bag". Padded. Half zip on the side to facilitate access. Plastic sleeve to insert bona-fide chair bag label. Definitively non-mil color.

In the interim, an old-school .mil sleeping pad from the surplus store would pad the chair bag adequately.

This is a great idea. If you put that in the back seat r trunk with 2 other actual chairs laying over it, no one would ever look twice at it.

I've been using the camp chair bag for transitioning my shotgun or Ar from my vehicle to my hotel room. I just roll the gun in a light weight packing blanket. Access to the gun isn't the quickest but if the blanket roll is open at the top I can actually pull the gun out by the muzzle.
