FOR SALE: Like new 16" carbine upper with brand new ER shaw 1/9 twist hbar barrel, .223 chamber, new lined handguards off a S&W M&P, gas tube, delta ring. Upper is a lightly used, like new split A marked upper with A2 sights.

i found this add and am wondering if 5.56mm NATO ammo can safely be fired from it ?

My guess would be no but you never know.

Verify that it is marked .223. If it is, buy a 1/7 5.56.

at $250.00 i thought it it was a good deal, this whole doggone .223 vs 5.56mm thingy is confusing so i'll just pass.....

Sometimes a Colt, let's say match target series, is marked .223 but is really a 5.56. With other brands, though, this is often not the case. Be diligent.

To be honest, if it operates well, it is still a bargain at $250 regardless.

Buy it and have it reamed at that price.
