I have decided I am gonna take the plunge and DIY my own high end carbine.

I'd like to use this gas block: Daniel Defense Low Profile Gas Block (http://www.danieldefense.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=107)

Does anyone have any experience with it? Is a clamped as stable as a pinned FSB/block?

I choose it as I am specifically looking at a RIS M4A1 as a hand guard and I know it will clear without issue.

TIA

I hope it works... I have one on my current build. Planning to use a DD Lite 9. I trust Daniel Defense to test their products throughly, hope I'm right.

a clamp on is not going to be as stable as a pinned or set screw style gas block. However, if its going to be covered/protected by the rail, its not really a concern.
