What are the advantages of a chrome bolt? I just received my BCM bolt carrier and I have a new CMT chrome bolt to put in it for a new build (when i get more money :rolleyes: But what are really the advantages if any of a chrome bolt versus a regular MP tested non chrome bolt?

i didn't know cmt was producing chromed bolts.. is it MP? i'll take a phosphate MP bolt over a chromed non-MP bolt any day.

the advantage to chrome is natural lubricity/wear resistance and ease of cleaning. the disadvantage, in my personal and unsubstantiated opinion, is that chrome doesn't hold loob very well, which might counter the benefits.

Cleaning is really the only thing can think of. Like was stated I would take an MP bolt any day.

I really feel that the Fail Zero BCG is the way to go if you need something different other than a standard BCG. Grant will even make sure that they are properly staked before he sends them out.
