I carried an M1-A1 in the 1970s, and am currently looking to acquire my first AR-15.

I've fired a match grade M1A competitively back in the day. A fine weapon to shoot out to 1000 meters with just the irons.:cool: If you haven't done so, check out the "tacked" threads in the AR Discussion, Technical sections and of course, the chart. They will help you in making a more informed decision about your first AR.
