The Personal and Family Protection Institute (PFPI) will be
hosting a two-day Basic AR-15 course at the Hudson Rod
& Gun Club on September 19th and 20th.

This course will be taught by David LaValley. David served in the
United States Army as a military police officer. He served
two tours of duty in Iraq in 2003 and again in 2005. Since
then he has worked in a variety of private security positions
and is an excellent instructor.

This course will address introductory issues with the AR-15
rifle with both classroom and range exercises. Our
classroom component covers discussion on topics such as
mechanical operation, dis/reassembly, shooting
fundamentals, gun-handling techniques, zeroing iron sights,
and ammunition usage and selection. The
practical exercises will begin with zeroing iron sights, rifle
presentation, shooting positions, shooting drills, threat
assessment, and preventative maintenance and cleaning.
and a desire to improve your knowledge and shooting skill.

Requirments:
AR-15 style rifle chambered in .223 / 5.56 with iron sights
250 rds of factory ammunition, 500rds is suggested.
Ear and eye protection
Baseball cap
Elbow/knee pads
Weapons cleaning kit.

Our course is appropriate
for beginning level AR-15 shooters as well as people
preparing for law enforcement and military service.
PFPI is dedicated to the continued existence of shooting
clubs in the United States. To show our support for
Hudson Rod & Gun Club and its mission to advance the
shooting sports, your tuition also covers a 1-year
membership a the Club for non-members or a $50 credit
towards next year's dues for current members.
