i know the info is on the forum, but search isn't working for me right now (invalid security token)

what are the lengths for a CAR buffer spring and for a rifle buffer spring?

aprox how many coils in each?

thanks in advance!

Looks like...

rifle- 12.750"(relaxed) with 44 coils.

carbine- 11.250"(relaxed) with 39 coils.

Can they reliably be interchanged?

Zip

PS: The spring from my old SP1 has 37 coils.

The acceptable lengths for the springs are as follows. Relaxed and coil count means nothing.

Rifle 11 3/4- 13 1/2 inches.
Carbine- 10 1/16- 11.25 inches.

gotm4-The different is in the length of a rifle buffer and a CAR buffer. The springs are also different. You can use a CAR length buffer & spring in a rifle length stock if you buy a spacer to make up for the additional length of the rifle length receiver extension. You can't use a rifle length buffer & spring in a CAR length stock (CAR receiver extension is too short).

Now you need one with all the various weight buffers! That would take a while!

That's a great visual representation!

I believe that there is already chart here with a breakdown of the buffers and their composition.
