I don't think this amendment was "serious" but it is funny that the Republicans pushed for it, and the Democrats voted it down. The amendment would have required congress to abide by the same provisions in the proposed package, instead of utilizing the special one set up for themselves.

The Democratic response was that the proposed health care plan is not mandatory and can be added to (finances permitting), while some Republicans believe that the proposed health care plan will essentially force private insurers to fold due to the restrictions and requirements.
always thought that it would only be fair, that whatever health care and retirement package our veterans have, should be the same as our elected officials.:rolleyes:
