What is the difference in overall barrel length with supressor for a 16" versus a 14.5" barrel?

I mean is the 16" barrel 16" plus muzzle break/supressor? Cause for a 14.5" to be non NFA it has to have an supressor to bring it out to 16" correct?

On a 14.5 inch barrel you would still have your flash hider, break, comp, whatever that would extend it to 16 inches? This would be your mount for your suppressor.

It has to have a muzzle device that pinned or permanently attached to make it non-NFA, whether it's a brake or a flash supressor is irrelevant, so far as I know. In that instance, a 14.5" barrel is non-NFA in the eyes of the law, provided that that muzzle device makes up for or exceeds the remaining 1.5" required.

Otherwise, if you buy a barrel that's 16" from rear to the crown of the muzzle, it's non-NFA, and you can add a muzzle device.

If you have a barrel less than 16", with muzzle device, and that device is not pinned or permanent, it's subject to NFA regardless of whether or not that detachable device takes it to or past 16".

So a non NFA 14.5" barrel may be only an 1" or so shorter than a 16" barrel depending on what the 16" barrel has for a flash hider device?
