View Full Version : Sighting in a 16" carbine: help needed
I just picked up a new LaRue Aimpoint mount and LaRue BUIS from Grant (great service) and it all needs sighted in. I have access to a 20yd indoor range tomorrow at work and would like to get it on paper. I was wondering, if I want a 50 yard zero with Federal XM193 ball, about where should I be printing at 20 yards? I'm thinking that the bullet is still on it's way up at 20 yards so I should be a little low on the paper. I'll have access to an outdoor range later to verify it, but I'd like to get it close to save time later.
Thanks
1 - 1.5" will get you close.
If you aren't running a F-marked FSB, when sighting in your BUIS don't be surprised if you find out you'll need to replace the front sight with a longer post.
Good point. The gun is a Colt 6920 with the proper carbine FSB.
Thanks

Hey, is that you Mitch?
Just send the gun to GA, I'll zero it for you and break it in too. :)
Yep
It's the same gun I used in SD's class. I'm just switching mounts and the BUIS. I'm doing annual maintenance on the dept's SG's today so I'll have range access all day. It will make for a nice lunch break.
How have you been?
