I just went out to the wake county range yesterday for the first time and I do have to say, it is a great facility. I would definitely recommend it to any NC residents in the Raleigh/Durham area.

$15 and an hour-long safety class gets you a range card. Prices are reasonable: $10/hr for Wake Co residents and $15/hr for non-residents, but if nobody is waiting for a lane, you can pretty much shoot as long as you wish. Memberships are available for $250/year (discount available for LEOs) and include unlimited range time. A wide variety of targets are available for $0.25 each and they rent certain equipment such as spotting scops, rests, etc. The range officers are VERY professional and operate the range in the most safety-conscious way I have seen at any range. Only downside is that the range has odd hours due to law enforcement using the range for training.

There are 4 ranges, 2 each of 50- and 100-meters with 20 lanes per range - all indoors. Calibers up to (but not including) .50BMG may be fired. Here's a pic of me firing my Remington 700 SPS Tactical at 50-yards for zeroing. I still have some fine tuning to do at 100 yards, but its been marking less than a 1/4 inch spread at 100 yards. I'll post the results as soon as I can. :D

I would definitely recommend this range to anyone in central NC.

God I'd love a range like that in Florida.
