XS Sights are now available for the M&P as well. I don't know if they're on the XS website yet, but David Bowie has some pictures of them on his site.

Storm lake is making after market match barrels for the M&P. Not as well known as some other barrel manufacturers they make really nice tubes at a good price point.

Im gonna order some of these.
Alrighty...does Warren make a set of Straight 8 style sights? How about a front that's .185" high?
I think Brownells had Warren night sights, but they were 3 dot style...not my ideal. And I'm pretty sure I'll need a taller front that the stock .160.
I'd like to get a set, but it looks like I might have to halfass it getting a rear from who knows where, and a front from Speed Shooters Specialties.
sub -- Warren sights for the M&P are definitely available in a 2-dot configuration.

The above posts have most of the favorite resources listed that I would have suggested. But here are a few more:
MP Pistol forums (http://mp-pistol.com/boards/): As with most forums, it has its share of "noise" too, but can be a very useful place to find some advanced knowledge about the M&P, more so than you can find in most non-specialized forums. It's particularly useful if you are experiencing some issue, and you want to get an idea of how common that issue is, or if others have found a common workaround.
Top Gun Supply (http://www.topgunsupply.com): Sometimes will have a selection of useful M&P parts. It varies, but I have often shopped at this store in the past and have gotten good deals, including on M&P mags. For example, right now I noticed they have the hard-to-find M&P sight tool in stock.
M&P Airsoft (http://www.airsocom.com/320300.html): Yeah, yeah, I know. But I'm serious, some of us do actually believe that Airsoft guns can have a useful role in carrying out safe practice drills. This M&P Airsoft is supposedly really well made, fully to scale, and I'm planning to get one.

Nobody does that but Kenny at SSS. He made my .195" tall, .115" wide serrated front. You could have him make the sight and then send to one of those places that can install the tritium tube. I had Kenny make me my sight for my M&P9L because it was a happy medium for shooting 147gr subsonic and 115gr ball. Since I'm very rarely shooting 147gr and because I like how the 115gr feels better (cycles flatter) I think I want a shorter front now, so I may have him make me a .185" tall, .110"-.115" wide front soon. They're only $35

I have to admit these M&Ps have peaked my interests. Are you thinking about giving the M&Ps a shot too? It doesnt hurt in my case that I live 5 minutes from Burwells shop.

I picked up an M&P 9mm couple weeks ago...
I can understand why people like them to be honest.
Although all the stock guns Ive shot (a grand total of 4) could benefit from some basic action tuning.
FWIW, SSS is NOT doing work on guns anymore. I still haven't been able to get ahold of Burwell, I am not sure if he is still accepting work to be honest.
So for those looking, it seems Bowie Tactical and Accurate Iron are still cranking them and getting solid feedback..

I didn't know Kenny stopped doing work on them.
FWIW a Pro sear polished up with a Mass. compliant trigger spring is a nice set up. A tiny bit long on the reset if you're used to a Glock or 1911.
My M&P Pro I'm now using for USPSA Production is set up this way. I had to modify the trigger bar to accept the Mass. trigger spring. I also shortened the reset so that it's like a Glock. I polished up the sear, firing pin safety and trigger bar. Unfortunately to get a Pro sear you have to send the entire gun to S&W. They do expedite service installing it for $125

Good info. Appreciate it.
To be honest, I always felt that the PC Sear left alot to be desired by itself. Although I haven't tried it with polished up parts or the mass trigger spring.
The new option by Bowie XL Trigger i believe its called, setting it up like a 1911 with a long trigger, seems ideal.
Although I want to preseve/enhance the reset as much as possible..
But, with any good things, he has a 2month wait from what Ive been able to gather...and im honestly not that patient right now.
Dan at Silver Bullet Firearms in Grand Rapids, MI did a really nice trigger job on a M&P 9L that I have.

Here's something that may be helpful for others looking for M&P holsters. I have discovered that leather holsters designed for the Sig P226 will fit the M&P almost as if made for it. They also fit the G19.
As for a good M&P kydex/polymer holster, Safariland makes a really good one out of safarilaminate, though with CT grips the fit may need to be adjusted.

i enjoy mine.
When using the Arredondo mag plate extentions do you have to replace the springs for the slide to lock back on the last round?
I have a M&P 9 Pro
Midways sells the extention plates for $ 15.99 and the complete set with Wolf springs are $ 22.00 from Speed Shooters Specialty. I have 10 mags so I rather not spend the extra cash if it's not needed.
Thanks
The mags will not lock back reliably without the extra power springs.
I would highly suggest getting them unless you dont mind that lack of a feature... :)
Thanks for the info... I just found them with the springs at Midway for $ 17.49 each.... I'm getting me some. :D
I was going to guide you to midway. That is where I got mine from the suggestion of member deaj. Mine came with the L-shaped baseplates, longer springs and the extension. Locked back 100% for me
Perfect,
They are on the way......
Have fun getting them on ;)
Toekneeg.
does that mean that they are a pain in the ass to install?

No, not at all.
The Arredondo base extensions came in today from Midway and I installed 6 of them without too much hassle. I numbered all of my magazines with a silver sharpie so if I have trouble with any of them I know which one is having issues. I'll go to the range tomorrow and see how they feed and hope they work flawless.
The replacement springs don't attach to the followers like the factory springs so I hope the follower doesn't hang up in the mag body. Has anyone had any issues with that happening?
Oh...and they advertise that it's a plus 6 - 9mm extension plate....well 5 is the max unless you want to break shit. So I have 22 rounds of 9mm
I wanted to post my experience with the Arredondo mag plate extentions.
1st they advertise that they add 6 rounds of 9mm but all I could get was 5 which didn't bother me much. I had a concern about the springs provided didn't attach to the followers and my concern became justified on 2 of the 6 mags because the followers became stuck in the mag body causing a total failure when firing.
I view the S&W M&P Mags to be a very good design and do not wish to introduce something to the weapon system that comprimizes the reliability. That said I am returning the Arredondo mag plate extentions to Midway and have went back to the stock 17 round configuration. This is my personal experience and mine alone so I'm sure many love the Arredondo mag plate extentions but they are not for me.
Tzoid,
I am of the same opinion on the arredondo plates. I really wanted to like them but just couldn't. I bought 2 for t&e. Took them to a 1 day handgun class. Both of them experienced stuck followers and the final straw was when BOTH of them had the extensions blow out on a speed reload. I've even had this problem with the stock base plates as well. My reloads are not gingerly. Sometimes I hit it with enough force (the stock ones) to push the base plate catch up and dislodging the floor plate itself. Admittedly this has never happened with full or near full magazines. Haven't had one come all the way off but not exactly reassuring. In the past month I have replaced most of my mag plates with the 10-8s and have not had a problem. They have a much tighter fit. Looking forward to see how Grant's floor plate design will work.
Jax,
I experienced one baseplate pop off during a reload. Since then ive been absolutely fine.
Did your extensions have the L shaped locking tab?
I like the extensions, i dont particularly like the way they're put together and quite frankly i really do believe they're way over priced. For what we are paying there should not be any flash on the product after it is molded and the L shaped extensions should NOT be as soft as they are.
Magsz, hey man. Yeh they came with the l shaped locking tabs+extra power spring (should've been more specific in my post) and I totally agree with you. They are way too soft. One of mine looks as if its been chewed on by a black lab puppy. I just had an epiphany about heading to Lowe's and buying some thin bar aluminum and making my own locking tabs. Like you said I was just very disappointed with the quality of this kit.
I 100% agree with both of you...In fact the L- shaped flimsy plastic internal base pad is definitly the culprit. I noticed when I dis-assembled my mags and put them back to stock every L-Shaped tab was chewed up on the edges. This was caused by the follower smashing down on them and since the replacement spring doesn't attach to the follower sometimes the follower gets hung up on the L-Shaped tab causing a total failure. Bad Design that can be fixed easily with a metal internal base tab- plate.
I sent mine back to Midway......
I recently aquired a M&P 9mm and was wondering who has the best deals on factory magazines?
