LMS Defense Presents, AK 101: An Introduction to the Combative Kalashnikov
March 17, 18, 2007 Casa Grande Police Range
09:00-17:00 both days
The AK 101 course is a two day block of instruction which focuses on developing consistent, non diagnostic, combative gun handling skills for the Kalashnikov weapons platform. This course is designed to instill robust gun handling to enable the student to efficiently manipulate and utilize the most common military small arm on the planet. A heavy emphasis is placed on recognizing and understanding the concepts that drive the combative use of the military carbine.
Topics covered will include:
-Design Orientation
-The Combative Platform
-Loading/Unloading/Reloading
-Status Check
-Wound Ballistics
-Sighting Concepts
-Triggering Concepts
-Ready Positions
-Transition to Pistol
-Gear Selection & Set up
-Non diagnostic Stoppage Reductions
-Alternate Firing Positions
-Firing While Moving
Equipment Required:
-AK-pattern rifle (7.62x39mm, 5.45x39, .223)
-Rifle sling
-Minimum of three AK rifle magazines
-1,000 rds of rifle ammunition
-Support gear to carry at least one rifle magazine on person (Belt AK pouch, kydex, etc.)
-Pistol & carry gear (belt, holster, and magazine pouch)
-Eye & ear protection
-Two pistol magazines
-100 rds of pistol ammunition
-Note taking equipment
-Camelback or similar self hydration equipment
-Sun block
-Bring a sack lunch of some type; we will not be leaving the range for lunch.
