Hey guys, I need to find a mount for my 11.5" Bravo Company AR that I can bolt to the floor under my bed, and that can lock the rifle in a way to prevent its operation, and that has a quick access locking mechanism.

I don't get to bring the rifle home until my tax stamp comes(hopefully soon), but I want quick access to it as a home defense weapon. I also don't want my kids to be able to be able to get to it. Does such an animal exist?

I have a safe for my pistol right now that only requires me to push a few buttons to get my gun. It sits by my bed.Something like that for a rifle would be great. It doesn't have to be an actual safe, just a mount or something like what police have in their cruisers. Hopefully it will protect the trigger too.

Anyone have any ideas? The home defense thread by C4Grant got me thinking.

Lock it in a corner with this item:

Car racks... Most require 12volt DC power.

The corner lock looks like an interesting option. I bet I could fit it behind the headboard of my bed. Hmmmmmm.

I guess to keep this a tactics or training thread I should ask how everyone else that uses a long gun for home defense stores their weapon. Is it an unsound tactic to leave your rifle in condition two or three?

I suppose the number of layers to your early warning system would be a factor when considering how much time one would have to respond to a threat.

Does anyone just keep a safe in the bedroom and unlock it every night?
