I've taken 3 previous classes with Bennie Cooley and plan on taking this one as well. Kyle Lamb made a comment to me at the recent Street Fighter class that "its always a pleasure to have Bennie's students in a class because they know how to move the gun" If you want to learn how to run your gun as effortlessly from your support side as your strong side you should take this course.

Urban Tactical Rifle Instructor’s Course
September 18th – 20th, 2009
Big Darby Range

This 3 day course is designed to enhance and broaden police and military firearm instructor skills with the AR-15 style rifle.
Our course will provide intermediate to advanced shooting techniques and skills that are specifically designed around the needs of
your patrol and SWAT team officers. C.R.T.C. Inc. will teach the most practical methods available for deploying the assault rifle for
offensive and defensive purposes to include CQB, live fire tactical team movement drills and more.
Instructors will learn teaching strategies that will enable them to reach their most difficult students.
This course is highly recommended for departmental firearm instructors and is limited to 20 students.

Class will be at the Big Darby Range, 875 Middle Pike Road, West Jefferson, OH 43162.

The class will start September 18th at 08:00 and end September 20th
at 17:00.

OBJECTIVES
• Mental Conditioning – Students will learn how to understand and control the psychological process
while training and during confrontations. This will be accomplished through the development of a
Fighting Mindset. By understanding this process and applying its principles you will learn how to
focus your emotions allowing you to shoot to your peak performance for the given situation.

• Training Barriers - Motivating and inspiring students can sometimes present extreme problems.
Instructors will learn how they can help the student to overcome these barriers through emotional
based training whether on the range on in the classroom. Instructors will also learn the two main
components that affect the student’s ability to perform to their full ability

• Action vs. Reaction Drills - This exercise will provide critical information for the instructor to gauge
the performance of their officers. Instructors will learn the importance of understanding what THEIR
personal reactionary time is and the role it plays when determining what reactionary gap is
needed for themselves and their officers. Instructors will learn through live fire drills how to improve
their reactionary skills to enhance their performance and decrease their reaction times.

• Human Nature – Each instructor will be taught the importance of understanding human nature, how
to control it, and use it to maximize their training. By understanding how to apply this, each student
will be able to achieve a higher skill level that will not only aid them in their day to day training, but
also in a survival situation.

• Firearms Training - This training will cover the importance of mental conditioning while shooting in
both the Subconscious and Conscious State of Mind. The importance of understanding the difference
between them and when to apply each in relation to combat shooting through hands on training.

Additional areas that will be covered are:
Position shooting to include support and unsupported positions.
Intermediate to advance shooting skills as they apply for CQB, and short to intermediate ranges.
Advanced immediate action drills.
Marksmanship skills for both stationary and moving targets.
Tactical and speed reloading drills, when and how to do each.
Target threat identification drills.
Firearms transitions.
Surgical shooting techniques while moving.
Advanced firearms retention drills for both the handgun and assault rifle.
Students will also learn how to monitor their personal shooting techniques while on the range and how to identify problem areas.

Each student will receive handouts with specific shooting drills that are designed to improve their
speed and accuracy during personal range time.
• Tactical Movement - Students will be shown a variety of movement techniques to include live fire
tactical team movement for the interior of buildings, urban areas and open terrain.
• Gun TakeAway Techniques – While there are numerous gun take away techniques, C.R.T.C. has
developed proven techniques based on the K.I.S.S. Principle that the student can learn and maintain
in a very short time period.
• Equipment Selection: I will cover the basic equipment that is needed to include: rifle selection,
calibers, bullet selection, optics, and important accessories to meet your specific needs.
• EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Each student will need the following:

AR-15 style rifle with sling and 1200 rounds.
