Louis' carbine class was probably the single best training experience I've ever had. Anxious to get back and do his handgun.

A lot of people wind up doing that when clearing a gun. See it a lot at matches a the "unload and show clear". When they "rack and roll" they don't twist the right wrist for whatever reason and keep the elbow tucked into their body and bend over like that. Almost everyone will at least shift their shoulders when they "rack and roll".

The above tends to seem to happen more with beefy folks. They can't reach across their body and still hold on to the top of the slide when it's at 90* so they have to lean in to bring their left shoulder down. Obviously not the case here as his left elbow is way the hell up there.

No, that is a dummy gun.

The barrel is solid, so that it's impossible for a round to be fired.

The chamber is open so that dummy rounds will feed for demonstration purposes.

Yes, the end of the barrel is solid, there is a hole cut in the chamber and there is no firing pin. I'm sure there are some other things too but it's a fully functional dummy for what it's worth.

Good write-up.

I fought trigger control issues for YEARS and Louis Awerbuck gets the credit for curing me (at least temporarily). I've known in theory for a long time what I was doing, but whatever he did or said to me in his class back in May cracked it and I've never shot better than I did at that class.
