i LOVED it. My only issue with the class is that it made me realize I have to spend more money on my gun. :o my side saddle beat the **** out of my trigger finger and obviously a light is a necessity.

here is my review i posted on another forum.

Copying from another forum. I probably left some shit out because I have a shitty memory but I soaked in as much as I can. I still don't know jack shit but I know more than I did 3 days ago so I feel pretty good about that.

Day 1: We went over lights, stocks, barrels, loads, etc.

Did a bit of a shooting and there was 4 hours of lecture at the beginning but I have the shittiest memory ever so don't expect me to remember everything.

Tactical Slings ****ing break
Pistol Grip Good.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
You need a sling
You need a light
You need to pattern your gun. Some guns shoot a 4" spread at 25 yards, some shoot a 15" Decide how you want your patterns to be and switch ammo until you get what you want.
Finger off the ****ing trigger, safety ****ing on.
Do not take your sights off the target after you rack the slide until you confirm your target is dead.
Decide how you want to reload. Through the chamber or through the slide for the first round.
I decided to go with: Action closed, load from bottom, rack action, press check, load from bottom to capacity.
Do not look at the gun when youre reloading, look at your target. you can grab the shells between your index and pinkie finger and slide it down the trigger guard and it will slide directly into the magazine well

you will get made fun of if your phone goes off 10 times within 4 hours

shit breaks. more shits break more times.

also, dont be "that guy" we have about 5 of them that were late either in the morning, lunch, break, or they just suck at life. :o

theres more but i'm tired and gonna go to sleep now :o

day two was...interesting

hand holding a ****ing light on a pump gun SUCKS. i need a dedicated light.
left handed with pistol grip and a side saddle, side saddle will bang the **** out of your trigger finger.
when running drills, communicate, communicate, communicate. if you can't load, out of ammo, your gun breaks, tell the next guy to shoot the mother ****ers.

select slug is ... interesting. meaning if you have shot in your gun and you need a slug.

we did some drills where we had to hit steel with birdshot and paper with slug. he swapped it up like steel, paper, steel ... or paper, paper, steel etc and we had to figure out whether we needed to load a slug in the gun, shoot the shot, shoot then load slug and rack, etc etc

also did some 8" steel plate at 50 yd with slug. hit mine at dusk first shot, missed the two at dark with a light on it. obviously 100% my fault but i know what i was doing wrong.

i feel confident that i don't know ****all about fighting other than what i was taught but i know a shit load more than i did before yesterday.

we also did some team lateral moving drills where we had to hit steel plates with cardboard "hostages" in front of and behind the steel plates. that was ****ing interesting to say the least. i learned alot about shots you can and can not take.

we did more drills with select slug in the dark with hand held light. THIS is where you really learn you need a light on your gun and not on your person. it's pretty ****ing hard to shoot a round of shot, rack the slide, load slug, rack the slide, shoot, rack the slide, shoot all while holding a flashlight in your hand.

i must say, this guy knows his ****ing shit. pete, you learned that in the marines because he's trained marines. he's been there and done that and the dude knows his shit. when someone like this tells me "you're doing good, i haven't had to bitch at you yet," that's pretty good.

at the end of the day, my only issue is follow through, i.e. pulling the trigger and keeping my eye on the sight and letting the gun come down before i rack the slide. i blew a couple shots because of this but it's drilled in my skull now so i should do better in the future in regards to this.

tomorrow we're doing shotgun with pistol transition. it should be interesting to say the least.

Pistol transitions are interesting. Especially when you have to hit steel plates with buckshot without hitting paper in front of and behind it then transition to pistol and hit paper in front of and behind steel targets without hitting steel.

Today, we also worked on hostage situation (kinda above) plus with some movable targets swinging from left to right.

Did alot of transition work, moving target work, team drills, communication, steel then paper, paper then steel, select slug work, etc etc.

I don't feel like typing alot because I'm worn the **** out but here are some pics I took.

there are more that ill be posting at some point with me but obviously i can't take pics myself

yes, the fatass is me

http://pic80.picturetrail.com/VOL827/1560122/3151166/316803532.jpg

the guy with the camo hat was the target. task was headshot with a slug without hitting, or even grazing, the guy behind him. target and "bystander" were moving.

then it got more interesting...

2 man team moving, targets moving, had to hit the camo hat guy without hitting any of the 3 behind him. same guy as before was moving, 2 bystanders with hats were stationary.
