Leupold MK4 MR/T 1" vs 30mm

I found a good deal on mk4 MR/T 1.5-5 1". Compared to the 30mm MR/T with M2 turrets and illuminated reticle, would I be giving up much if I go with the 1", non-illuminated reticle and 1/4" turrets?
However, I would also be saving around $300 in the process.
The scope will be going on AR for close to medium range.

to me, $300 in savings is well worth it, with that particular scope.. but i am me, and i dont have any use for 1/4 turrets with a short range scope. do you?
