So I just layawayed a 19.5" Alexander Arms 6.5 grendel complete upper. Rifle length gas system, picatinny gas block, heavy barrel. Comments welcome on the future of this beast:

Viking Tactics 12" FF HG
Rifle length top rail
a few accessory rails----mostly for a Harris bipod and a VFG
Smith Vortex flash hider

The lower it's going on is an Essential Arms I had in the safe. I hadn't purchased a stock for it but I'm leaning toward either a LMT SOPMOD or Vltor E-mod adjustable. It has a milspec buffer tube.

What advice would you all give on a good scope for this---it's going to be a bench gun/game gun during winter and I can't imagine shooting out beyond 300 for a deer, but apparently there's a new range opening up in Elizabeth town that'll have a 2500m berm....well beyond the useable ballistical range of a 6.5, but I know it'll be used at perhaps 800-1000 :)

Who's used the 6.5 for 150-300lb game? I'm thinking it'll be loaded with 123gr Lapua Scenar or Hornady 129gr SST and 85-90gr for hard hitting offensive pieces of paper......

Looking forward to this build.
