wow great looking 1911 and I love the lack of any lettering and such but why the machines on the slide is that just for looks or to lighten up the slide???

CTC + Surefire + Trijicon is sure the way to deploy a pistol in low light.

About the only thing I would do with that is to stipple the CTC grips ala Bowie Tactical.

Very nice blaster.

Stunning as always, Chuck!

I was staring at the lone dimple on the slide wondering what its purpose was, when it occurred to me that I haven't used a 1911 in so long I had forgotten how to disassemble one.

impeccable execution and form meets function...

Thanks!

Vinh nailed it.
The heavy bevel on the slide bottom makes finding the relief cut for removing the slide stop difficult under certain lighting conditions. The dimple serves as a reference point for the relief.
The Surefire illustrated has been Cerakoted.
The grooves milled into the slide act as 'fullers', same as on a Kombat Nife. :p
I had fun building this one. I thought it was time to do a night theme pistol.

I like that a lot. Everything you need with nothing you don't.

If you don't mind me asking(PM if you like) what would something like that cost? It's amazing.

Beautiful piece as always!

Chuck's work falls under the, "If you have to ask, you probably can't afford it." line of thought... I mean you either know you've got a few K to drop on a 1911 or ya don't...

I don't, but if I did, I'd have him work up something like this...

I can't imagine you without a 1911 in your hands.

1) No constant supply of .45
2) Arizona 1911's are too difficult to obtain and replace
3) Turned in my man card

See you in October, dude.

I never thought there could possibly be a gun I would ever want bad enough and not care how much it cost till I stumbled upon this thread..Looks like I know what my next 1911 is going to be..

Love the blacked out Surefire, looks so much classier than the bright white logo they put on them by default. Wonder how difficult that is to do…

Impeccable aesthetics. And great idea to Cerakote the white light. Thanks for sharing the pictures, Chuck.

Incredible. That's a work of art not "just a gun". If I ever bought one, I'd be afraid of shooting it much less taking it out of the package as I know I would have a moment of stupid and drop it on the pavement.

Chuck,
Did you make the rail the surfire is attached too? Or did you get it somewhere? If so where? That 1911 is amazing by the way!!!

I'm pretty sure that it is a Dawson Rail and adapter. Though Chuck could probably fabricate anything he wanted, no one knows the 1911 and machining like Rogers Precision.
