This started off as a stock RRA Entry Tactical and. I have been absorbing all the information on this site regarding all the corners RRA cuts...so much of my money has been spent changing out the crap parts.

The RRA Bolt w/Crane O-ring fits very tight in the 3 round grip core...right next
to the "last chance device".

The last things I "need" are:
-Norgon Ambi-catch (I'm wrong handed)
-Tango Down Vertical Grip
-Tango Down Rail Grips
-Magpul Ladder Rail panel for top
-Larue Cantilever Mount for Aimpoint
-Troy Rear sight (I don't like owning anything made by ARMS)
-Aimpoint Killflash
-KNS Gen 2 anti-rotation pins
-2,000 rounds

Advice is always welcome...Thanks Grant (for putting up with me).

Nice Setup Raining Brass. However I would not saw the RRA has crap parts or is a bad rifle. Some parts on RRA rifles are just not Mil Spec.

The sling is Battlelab by Diamondback Tactical (who also sold the Chalker sling).
I like Chalker's Idea to use a quick release pelican hook.
The sling itself is very well made....wish they had a tan version.

Well what is crap to me may be gold to someone else. It's the little things that matter to me, such as the firing pin RRA uses is small and weak compared to a CMT. Their firing pin retaining pin is also junk...I'm just wondering why I paid $1,100 for this gun when I could have bought a "Mil-spec" gun for the same price.
I'm a high volume shooter as is the DEA, and I'm willing to bet they will have a different opinion of RRA within a few years.
But ill never sell this gun- it has never jammed, even before the upgrades.:D

I think it looks very nice, and that it functions 100% is awesome too.

Once you finish it all up, post pics again.

Is the buttpad one originally designed for the 6 position M4 stock?

It is the SOG version sold by Vltor (it's green if it is hard to tell)

I know many of you may be asking your selves "why didn't he get a Larue rail"?
The reasons are:
1) $40 cheaper than the Larue and I need that money for rail covers.
2) I don't have the tools to install a Larue... which would take more money.
3) This thing took no less than 4 minutes to install and that was because a bolt fell under the couch.
4) The Troy is still free floated (not that you need it) and rock solid.

I will be getting a larue rail for my next project.

Also, for those who have not seen a Troy rail in FDE- It matches up almost perfectly with magpul, vltor, and TD's FDE. The picture shows the rail being lighter however the anodized alum. is just reflecting the camera flash more than the plastic.

...just a little FYI

LaRue or not, I like it.

Heck, I have a RAS 4 on mine, and I like it too!
