I've been looking at a video on the Brownell's website and it tells me I need #3 and #4 roll pin punches and roll pin holders to build my lower according to their approach.

I already have some punches, but they're marked by dimension (e.g. 1/8") not by number.

Does anybody know what each of the Brownell's numbers correspond to in actual dimensions?

The roll pin holders are worth the money, get them! Roll pin punches should be used on roll pins to keep from damaging them. Regular punches can deform the roll pins. Get them too. The proper tool is ALWAYS better than a substitute.

Ah thanks, I was trying to figure that out too with the new lower I just got!

Also, this doesn't work for all of them but for the most common I see a pattern that I can now remember...

#3 = 3/32
#4 = 4/32 (1/8)
#5 = 5/32
#6 = 6/32 (3/16)
#7 = 7/32
#8 = 8/32 (1/4)

When installing the bolt catch roll pin, lots of folks have problems marking the lower.

I like using the Midway special roll punch for installing this pin:

I never have a problem marking the lower while using this punch. It provides extra clearance.
