View Full Version : Your State pride firearms/tactical Photos

Iraq Ninja

I thought it would be fun to start a thread of photos showing your pride in your State.

Only rule is that it has to contain a State name or flag with a firearm, military, or tactical subject matter. If you don't have any pride in your State... time to move :).

For example, a photo of you at a training course with a State flag on your chest rig...

Or something like this...

Here is mine, taken near Al Hillah last month.

I love my state so much I never leave it. :p

Good idea on the flag thing though, just in case I ever go train out of state I'd like to slap a flag patch on my gear.

I've seen two t-shirts I thought were perfect. One my friend used to wear when we went up to punk-rock shows in Atlanta that said "**** you we're from Florida" (wish I could find one of those today). The other was a picture of a gun from the muzzle end that said "Florida, see it like a native".

LOL.

The ass crack on the video monitor is our rhino bar. It is supposed to be extended out in front of the vehicle. In theory, if your have a passive IR IED, the bar will set it off first, saving your ass... so I guess it is an ass crack...

Iraq Ninja,

thank you for the great pics. I have been following your posts with great curiosity.
Could you please tell me if that SUV is armored, and with what? Would you not rather be in e.g. an Abrams?

Best regards and most of all STAY SAFE!
-Dave

Yes, a B6 rated Toyota Land Cruiser. We all have armored vehicles these days. It can take a blast, but an EFP will go right thru most armor these days.

I like the LC, because it allows us to go off road on dirt tracks that the military doesn't use. They normally stay on designated MSRs and ASRs, and that is where the bad guys put out the IEDs.

When we talk with the locals, they often ask where I am from. I always answer "Texas" and they always smile and talk about cowboys and John Wayne. I doubt they even know where New Jersey is :)

This thread will be great. I want to see a picture of Rob pistol-whipping a gator, with an orange in his non-dominant hand, in front of Epcot.

Rob: Did you ever happen to go to the 513 Club in Atlanta?

You can be sure he'll have on a yellow visor. Just wait and see what he does when he gains the gators compliance.:p

Thank you.

Is that a converted Mac?

That's my subgun match setup; it's an M-11/9 with a 10.5" upper and a slowfire bolt (thus the need for the M4 stock). There's a pic in one of the NFA threads of the same gun with a short upper and a Gemtech MultiMount.

Is it bad that I instantly recognize that as Travis Haley's rifle and that MUST be a Magpul class, right?Don't know if it is good or bad, but it is Travis' rifle. This pic was prior to his employment with Magpul. Our unit does a helo shoot about 3-4 times a year. Didn't really know Travis at that time, but a friend / coworker asked if he could bring Travis by and if we could test out his sling rig that he was working on, for helo shoots. I don't think he really expected to get some trigger time in our bird, but of course I hooked him up with a ride and some trigger time, and I got a really cool video and some pictures out of it, thanks to Travis. He really was a very nice and helpful guy, and because of his own practical experience, he had some sound advice that we benefited from.

I am quite sure that his helo platform shooting class is solid.

For those of us lucky to be in the great state of Texas we are fortunate to have a lot of patches for state pride. Larue also make a patch set that does this quite nicely. I'll have to get a picture of my rig with my Larue Texas/Dillo patches.

I know the feeling. I was born in Indiana, but raised 20 miles from the border in Illinois.

I just tell people I'm a Hoosier . . . I can't stand to tell them I'm from Illinois because the inevitable follow-up question is, "Where in Chicago?"
