For 50yds, is your POI same as your POA?

Yes it is.

The 50 yards is the IBZ, it tends to be the preferred zero for non BDC sights. It tend to fit into the average engagement zone better than the 25M/36 Yard BZO used by the big Army and Marine Corps.

Until I have access to a 50+yd range I am shooting at a 25yd indoor location. Sucks but at least I am shooting. Can you tell me the best zero at 25yds to be close to the 50yd preferred zero? 1" high, 2" high etc? I'll zero again once I can get to a real rifle range. I have an Aimpoint ML2 if it matters.

Thanks,
Bryan

To approximate the 50 yard zero you should be about 1" LOW at 25 yards.

The 50 yd zero has been used by many going back to the late 80's. MCSF used it then, and the SOTG's dumped the 300m zero for the 50/200 at least for the Force Platoons. Unsite has taught it for as long as i was there, starting in 86.

The 50 yd zero probably has predated the IBZ, but zero range has nothing to do with the type of sights- it has to do with exterior ballistics.
The 50yd is a much better solution.
