My S&W MP15T stock wobbles and rattles something awful. If I purchased a Magpul CTR stock do I need to buy the complete kit with buffer tube, spring, etc...?

Or can I just get the basic stock? Will this work OK with the S&W buffer tube?

Buy just the stock (mil spec) and you'll be fine

The CTR (http://www.magpul.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=70_73_110) comes in both a commercial and Mil-Spec version. If you buy the version that matches the extension tube you would not necessarily have to change anything else.

Your MP15T comes with a MilSpec RE. Just buy the stock, as you do NOT need the entire assembly.

You can remove the stock by pulling the locking lever DOWN, and pulling the whole thing off. Installing the CTR is similar, but involves pulling down a round bar, rather than the entire locking lever. Instructions for installation are included with the CTR purchase.

Good luck! CTR stocks are great.
