I am in the process of obtaining a FFL so that those that would rather not learn to do this on their own guns could send them to me. I was thinking $80-$90 for the treatment. Would anyone have any interest in this?

Also, I thought that I would post pics of some new work, a G36 and G21. I have also found a way to cover the exposed epoxy with material from the frame for a better matched texture. On black guns this looks incredible, with the OD guns it is a little darker in color.

No offense, but it looks like you mauled those poor things with a soldering gun. No way in hell you are getting near my guns....lol

$80-$90 does seem a bit steep to melt someones grip and kill off their warranty.

Thanks for the feedback. I could do the stippling where it would look better, using dots or strait lines, but I have found that the "rice" pattern is the most comfortable while providing an incredibly strong grip much like scallops on 1911 frontstraps if you have felt it. I would give customers the option of using different stippling.
And here's a better pic of the "rice" texturing on a different gun, for some reason the new pictures don't show the stippling that well:

I guess that if cosmetics are a big concern, then any grip reduction is not for you. I think that all reductions look like doo-doo butter, hell I even think that factory Glocks look terrible. I see my guns as tools and to me, this makes them more comfortable to use. Reductions to me are to make the pistol more ergonomic, the grip angle is changed so that the pistol will point much like a 1911, which is more natural to most. The texturing is a personal preference, and I just that this pattern is both comfortable enough for all day shooting and provides enough grip to keep you hand in place, if a customer would want different texturing, I would be happy to oblidge.

Please keep up the feedback, positive or negative, I appreciate it all.

I thought I replied to this last night? I guess not.

I think your work looks good as far as grip reductions go (they're all hideous, but like you said it's not for looks). I'm not sure how competitive that pricing is, but I do imagine it would be tough to compete with the more established names in the business - Wendall, Bowie, ARS, not to mention Robar. There's also the issue of liability if you were to make a mistake and ruin someone's frame (even if it was only ruined in their eyes).

Could you do a grip chop? (19 mags in a 17, etc.) I think there is a growing market for those. I might even give that a whirl -- I'm still afraid to dive into that on my own.
