I am in the market for a new 1911 and I want Colt, stainless, and a rail. The rail and stainless are what I want but the Colt part is negotiable.

What do you all think of the Colt and if your not in love with it what do you suggest?

Are you betting your life on it? Are you really wedded to .45ACP?

If so then the P220, if you are all about all stainless, al metal guns. The P45 if you are opening to thinking outside the all metal box.

Yeah, it's impossible to bet your life on a 1911.

I've had P220s, not impressed, sold them.

And the Kahr doesn't have a rail.

Meant HK45, not the Kahr P45.

Well, that's definitely a good gun.

But I think he wants an attractive gun...I think the HK45 looks great...but I hear that most might not...especially those who like stainless guns.

The HK45 slide is stainless but with a black finish, I am sure he has his heart set on a 1911 though.

I have a P220 and a Kimber 1911. I was looking at getting a stainless 1911 and figured might as well add a Colt to the stable.

Kinda do have my heart set on a 1911. It's what I shoot the best.

I got to shoot one of the Kimbers built for the local SO a few weeks ago. Nice gun if you are into 1911's. You might look at the Kimber SIS. I haven't shot the SIG 1911 but I think it may come in a SS railed model as well. Good luck.

I wish the Colt railed 1911 came in black and not silver.

Agreed on the Black (Carbon Steel) vs Stainless.

Is the Colt Rail Gun a series 80 gun? Please say no, please say no...

Does anyone have any experience with the SIG? I have been knocking around the idea of adding a 1911 to the stable but am not looking to have to mortgage the house to do it. It wouldn't be a carry gun and would be lucky to see 1,000 rounds a year.

Not doing it in Steel first was a massive fundamental marketing error imo.

Series 90

What is a "Series 90"? I'm WAAAY out of the loop on 1911s.

I don't know what Series 90 means but I know the Colt Defender is a 90 and the Double Eagle was a 90.
