I have been been reading some excellent info on uppers, in fact I ordered two uppers from BCM after reading the posts here. My question is, are there any problem spots to look for on lowers and what do you guys recommend as far as parts kits and lowers go? Thanks

Buy one made of aluminum.

Lower parts, I've not been satisfied with DPMS LPKs.

Mil spec receiver extension tubes.

That's about it, unless you want to talk about stocks.

Oh, the cheaper lowers are sometimes made cheaper.

But I've seen problem lowers from a lot of expensive brands too.

I have A DPMS lower with one of their parts kits installed, I also have a MEGA Machine and a Spikes lower that I have to put together yet. I also intalled a TUBB
recoil spring and an H buffer from BCM. So far with the BCM mid length upper it worked fine after two trips to the range.

Who makes a good LPK in your opinion, I like you are not real thrilled with DPMS LPKs.

Just look at G&R Tactical's built lowers. Good prices

Its hard to build one cheaper for what you get from Grant. If I had to do it all over again(which I will soon:D) I'd buy one of Grants lowers.

Not sure what maker he uses, but its quailty stuff. A lot guys here will back me up on it.

Good luck

Brad

7075 aluminum instead of 6061.
