In case any fellow M&P owners have not noticed, even though the M&P has a standard picatinney rail, you need to use the universal locking plate with an X200 to get it to mount. There isnt enough space for the X200 to slide far enough back to let the picatinney plate lock in place. The good news is that even having to use the U one, it still locks on nice and tight. :D

Thanks for the tip. I was going to get an X200B, but now I'm waiting for the X300. Actually, I wish Safariland would make a 6004 for the M&P with M3x installed. And I wish Insight would make a "DG" type switch for the M&P/M3x combo...

At last....a reason for me to NOT get a M&P! A stupid and entirely irrelevant reason, but one nonetheless.

Ahh, but its not a reason...an X200 still fits, and fits nicely. :D

FWIW the SIG P22XR series does the same thing...

Well since I have an X200B on the way (if they ever get off of backorder) I suppose I should get me one of them....

Hawkeye,
I'm new here, so if it is against the M4 forum rules to post links to other forums then please delete. That being said, this topic has already arisen on the M&P forums. Are you sure you used enough force? http://mp-pistol.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=799&highlight=x200

Yeah, I am familiar with whats being post there. Have to give it a little push to get it to lock on. Used to doing that. Still have to use the universal plate instead of the picatinney plate.

Probably a dumb question, but what is the "universal plate"?
Is that a MP part or a SF part or ?

X200's come with 2 different locking plates. One thats cut to fit a standard picatinney notch, and one thats narrower to fit on a non-pic. spec rail notch such as on a Glock.

Just in case someone is wondering the Streamlight/Insight M3s will fit.

I know it's not a Surefire, but I've used one for close to 7 years now and another for close to 3 and not a single problem. I've even used these non-uber lights at classes.
