I'm considering a 329PD and I was curious if anyone had suggestions as to a good 2 legged critter load. I'm thinking I'll use the reduced recoil Keith style load that buffalo bore makes for when i'm hiking, but I'd like to have something a little different if I get a wild hair and decide to CCW it.

Thoughts? (about possible loads, not my CCW choice)

The Corbon 200 gr DPX worked well in some recent testing...

Thanks tons. Is that pretty much the only show in town for .44 special?

Doc,

I seem to recall (many moons ago) that there was a SWC HP made for the .44 Special by more than one maker, and there was a Winchester Silvertip HP, too...

Would those be worth considering???

No mention of the Keith-style bullets? Or are we not assuming reloading...?

BAC,

You should be able to estimate the penetration and expansion of such a bullet using information from 'Bullet Penetration' (Duncan MacPherson's book) so long as you know the velocity and bullet weight...
