For the first time as long as I can remember, Colt has released complete upper for sale in the commercial market. This is a monumental step on colt's part as to their commitment to the Civilian market.
Available for purchase are Colt LE 6940CK and LE6920CK, the CK part of the part number denotes this as an upper assembly only.
There is no what so ever difference between the complete rifle or the upper assembly. CK might stand for Component Knockdown.
I recently picked up a Colt LE6940 for my California registered Colt lower.
Interestingly, my lower has a small pivot pin hole and mate to the mil-spec small pivot pin of the Colt upper perfectly. Another step for Colt is to merge the mil-spec aspect of the Colt defense guns to the commercial market offers.

Not something you can do with your finger unless you have the finger of a small child, but a simple as a bullet tip will do the job just fine.

Gov't profile 16.1inch M4 barrel, unlike the LMT MRP, the Colt 6940 will take a standard mil-spec barrel. with the right tool, you can actually drop a 10.5inch barrel into the platform and make it into a modern CQB-R

The 16.1inch M4 barrel are standard mil-spec affair, chrome lined, M4 feed ramp, MP tested, and 1:7 twist to best fit ammunition from 55gr to 77gr.

Notice the hole opening, this was originally design for the model 1020 piston carbine, which was reveal during the 2006 Shot show. Although the piston is still an in house project and the engineering team took the basic 1020 design and came up with the LE6940. the hole is mostly likely left for the piston assembly in case for a future release. few CNC steps and this can be a piston ready gas block.

The front sight kept the usual M16 front sight blade profile.

The detent for the flip up front sight are friction lock with no extra button to push for deployment. This sight has a pretty heavy spring detent so it will not be easily knock down during deployment.

Like the Colt LE6940 carbine, the LE6940CK comes with the US Army approved Matech rear sight.

Bolt carrier group are the proper M16 affair, this give the gun better felt recoil and timing even during semi auto fire.
