Will a BCM upper match a Spike's Lower? Does anyone have this combination? I am waiting for my lower to clear the paperwork, then it is mine. Looks very nice. Am thinking of a BCM hammer forged mid length 16" with 9" DD rail with FSB or the same configuration with a 12" DD rail. How will they match the lower? Does BCM install the low profile gas block for you on the 12" rail version? I am pretty new to all these available options for uppers.

I don't have Spikes but I have Doublestar and Stag if you want a pic of those.

well, I find that when the rifle is used as its meant to be, you won't notice under the carbon and dust.

My Spike's Lower & BCM upper match very well. I wouldn't expect a perfect match but differently good enough.

I think you'll be pleased.

When it comes to fighting rifles I'm not really a fit and finish kind of guy, but thats just me. FWIW my BCM/Noveske match well and so does the BCM/LMT.

If you order the 12" railed BCM upper from BravoCo as a complete upper then it will come with the lo-pro gas block installed. If you plan to have a lo-pro gas block installed then I would suggest ordering it from BravoCo this way since I'm pretty sure I have sacrificed 8-10 punches trying to get the BCM taper pins out. They are a bitch to remove (which is a good thing).

You will love BCM gear and if you want the CHF barrel then get on it. I love all of my uppers from them.

I'd like a pic of the Stag. Please?

Indeed. This is a better question for the goobers on AR15.com... the "fit and finish" crowd.

It wasn't a big deal or part of the selection of parts, but it was an "oh, it sorta matches" moment and even got a shrug of acknowledgment.

Kinda irrelevant when you add sights, handuards/rails, lights, optics, etc that aren't going to "match" either.

No experience with the Spikes lower but my BCM upper is on a Doublestar lower. I hadn't noticed but after reading your post I got mine out and examined more closely. In direct sun my BCM upper has a more matte finish while the Doublestar lower has a glossier finish. I don't notice it otherwise.

Truthfully I hadn't given it any thought until now, I was more interested in the functioning and accuracy side.

I have my BCM upper on a Doublestar lower as well.

In the 2nd photo the difference is a little more apparent. Doesn't bother me at all though, this gun is a sweet shooter.

I'll try to get some photos of the BCM/Stag later.

Thanks for all of you answers. That is what I wanted to know. Good enough for me also. This is the site that was key to me researching AR's. You all know what you are talking about, and have good advice. This is a great community. Glad that I am a part.

Thanks Rusty for sharing your photos of your setups. They match very well, in fact they look almost perfect to me. I really appreciate you posting the pictures. It gives me an excellent idea what the combo will look like. I picked up my lower from the FFL yesterday. I cleaned it and lubed it. Looks great. Now I just have to save for an upper. BTW, is that a BCM 16" 9" mid upper? That is what I am looking at or the 16" 12" DD rail. I purchased a CTR stock, and did not get the spider color filled but that is the only difference. What setup is that for your Aimpoint? Is it an absolute or 1/3 co-witness? I am thinking of a close match to your carbine. Thanks so much for the info. Do you like the FSB/FSP in your view? I have an old airsoft setup with a 1/3 co-witness and it looks pretty good to me. What are thoughts?

You guys might want to stake your endplates so the castle nuts don't move.

Not a problem brother, glad to help. The upper is a 16" middy with a DD Omega 9.0. The front sight post doesn't bother me, I look right past it. If you use a magnified optic of 3x or higher you won't see it at all. I am using a Aimpoint Comp ML3 mounted in a ARMS M68 Tri-lock with cantilever spacer. I do get a 1/3 co-witness with the spacer and an absolute co-witness without it.
